Bhaskaracharya II
Father of Algebraic Mathematics

Bhaskaracharya II is one of the greatest mathematicians and scientists of India, whose contributions have been extremely important in mathematics, astronomy, and scientific disciplines. His thoughtfulness and inventions have made India proud.
Contributions of Bhaskaracharya II:
1. Algebra: Bhaskaracharya made important contributions to algebra. He introduced new principles and methods in the field of algebra which later became the foundation of modern mathematics.
2. Algebraic Methods (Formulas): Bhaskaracharya presented many formulas of algebra in his treatise "Siddhant Shiromani", which became the basis of unique mathematical methods.
3. Astronomy (Arithmetic): Bhaskaracharya also made important contributions to the field of astronomy in his book "Siddhant Shiromani" through his education and inventions in disaster prediction, solar eclipse, and other astronomical subjects.
Bhaskaracharya's works:
Sanskrit verses related to algebra, which are from Bhaskaracharya's treatise 'Bijaganita':
बीजं गणितस्य सर्वस्य यदुक्तं गुरुतल्पजित्।
तद्वज्जातं यदन्यत्र स्यात्तत्सर्वं निष्फलम्॥
Translation:
"If you want to find the square root of an equation, find the square root of the product of the constant term of that equation and the product of the square term, add or subtract the exponential term from the first exponential term of the equation, then what comes next would fail otherwise."
In English:
"The square root of the product of the constant term and the coefficient of the square term, when added or subtracted with the coefficient of the first-degree term, gives the result that is futile elsewhere."
This verse reflects the principles of algebra related to complex equations in ancient Indian mathematics.
• Contribution of Bhaskaracharya in modern mathematics and science:
Bhaskaracharya's contributions have also inspired modern mathematics and science. The principles of algebra, astronomy, and arithmetic given in his texts continue to guide scientists even today. Bhaskaracharya's principles have encouraged modern approaches in mathematics and science. His theories of algebra and astronomy are still being studied today and are opening new directions in modern mathematics and science.
Bhaskaracharya's contribution to mathematics, astronomy, and scientific disciplines is unique and his principles have contributed to mathematical and scientific prosperity throughout the world even today.
Our heartfelt tribute to such a great mathematician and astronomer, Acharya Bhaskar.
